Poker

Tips from Pros

Tip №1: Keep the positive balance in the game
Positive balance, shortly speaking, the prize will let you contain a calmed soul state. Tranquility is really important for the discipline, patience and resistance. Sometimes you’ll miss a pot you could win, if you would’ve risked and entered the game. And that, of course, will be regrettable. But if your balance turns negative, if you begin losing, you are in danger to enter the game with a combination that would’ve be better to fold, and make a lot more of mistakes.
Advice №2: try to catch the short lucky moment
To win in poker you need skills and experience. Nevertheless, this game depends mostly on a luck factor. Especially in short distances. Strong players will beat weak sooner or later, but you don’t have to think that this will happen on the delivery you are playing. Of course is hurtful to see how a loser takes all the prizes one by one. Especially if those prizes contain your money. Assume this calmly and from a philosophical point of view: “what can I do? – it’s a happy game!” but that’s what makes the game popular. Time from time you’ll be the one on the wave, when no matter you do will be a winning move, and it’ll seem as if the Fortune itself is sitting behind you and cheering. If you hadn’t moments like this, trust me, they’re beautiful and unforgettable. It is important to use those moments with profit to yourself. When the opponent is going thru a winning stripe is better to remain sited and calmed.
Advice №3: play after resting well
While playing poker you’ll have to make multiple decisions. And the selection of the right action demands a serious analysis. Though experience helps, sometimes analysis can take place, the quality of thinking fast and clear is tremendously important. A tired player is more susceptible to make a mistake he wouldn’t make in a normal condition. And mistakes, even insignificant, can turn win into loss.
Advice №4: do not overpass the drinking limit
Alcoholic drinks consume at a poker table isn’t something bad, amoral or criminal. That is a common thing. But do not over drink the limit! One Russian general said once: “I don’t understand why people get drunk! Well, you had 700-800 grams and enough.” The problem is that alcohol usually influence decisions made for the worse side. A drunken person enters the game more often than a calmed sober person. In one word, a drunken person makes decision than can be called as wrong.
Advice №5: try to enjoy the game
Poker itself is a funny, company, breathtaking, interesting game. Multiple-sided, risky, gambled, mathematical. Almost anyone can see on the game the qualities he likes: a dry pedantic mathematician, a slight psychologist, and an adventurer. But not every one of them enjoys the game. The luck factor has its role. It is easy to enjoy when you are winning, but, what if your cards aren’t on fire?
The problem is that emotional players can allow irritation, anger, and other feelings enter into their souls. What might happen after that? That can lead to control lose, weakening of the game discipline, and then: wrong decisions.
If you observed starts of bad mood, sadness, or alike; better sit comfortably in your chair, relax, try to take the situation back on your hands. The truth is the game didn’t loss because you aren’t getting lucky! It still has its qualities and it only gives you subject to analyze. You just liked it! Get back on level terms, play with joy. And the game will reward you.
Advice №6: avoid playing, if you don’t have much money
It’s important the pot isn’t pushing on you. Your bet should correspond to your possibilities, to your financial status. Would you play with money you just borrow? We don’t recommend you to do that. First of all, if you lose, you’ll be in trouble. But the most important: “the pot pressure”, is well known by professional players; can take you away from the state of comfort balance. The result is well known: you’ll make mistakes. One more possible result: you won’t play your best game; the money will be over before that.
Advice №7: play using the key you consider to be right
Usually happens that a loser at your table makes critical mistakes, makes some unbelievable moves and… wins, no matter what. After seeing all that a thought might cross your mind: copy his play; try to play using his style: “I have to change the game somehow!”… Kick that thought away! It’s wrong from the root. In poker, sooner or later, the strong player has to beat the weak. You need distance. If you are sure that your style is the right one, keep on using it, don’t change your way. The “fryer’s happiness”, though is “more brilliant than thousand suns”, isn’t eternal!
